🚫 Do NOT Use If Your Pet Has

⚠️ Glaucoma, enlarged prostate, urinary retention, severe heart disease, angle-closure glaucoma, pregnant/nursing. Can cause paradoxical excitement in some cats. May worsen asthma in susceptible pets.

🚨 Call Your Vet IMMEDIATELY If You See

These signs indicate a medical emergency or medication reaction:

  • Difficulty breathing, pale/blue gums, collapse
  • Severe vomiting, bloody diarrhea, or black tar-like stools
  • Extreme lethargy, unresponsiveness, seizures
  • Swelling of face/throat, hives all over body
  • Tremors, incoordination, dilated pupils, rapid heart rate

☠️ NEVER Give These Medications

The following human medications are TOXIC and can be FATAL:

  • ❌ Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) - causes kidney failure & GI ulcers
  • ❌ Naproxen (Aleve) - more toxic than ibuprofen
  • ❌ Acetaminophen (Tylenol) - liver damage (cats even more sensitive)
  • ❌ Any medication with Xylitol (sugar-free) - causes liver failure

💡 Medication Safety Best Practices

  • Always check medication concentration/strength - liquid vs tablet dosing differs dramatically
  • Keep all medications in original containers with labels. Never mix pills together.
  • Give with food to reduce stomach upset (unless directed otherwise by vet)
  • Watch for side effects for 4-6 hours after first dose. Have vet phone number ready.
  • If you miss a dose, DO NOT double the next dose. Give next scheduled dose only.
